Welcome to the beautiful City of Aiken, South Carolina

The City of Aiken is located near the mid-point of South Carolina’s long border with Georgia, about 15 miles east of Augusta. US 1 and US 78 pass through the heart of the city, and Interstate 20 skirts its northern border. It is the seat of Aiken County.

Aiken is known throughout the world as an equestrian training center and a place rich in history and natural beauty. Our historical downtown area is easy to walk and filled with a variety of shops and restaurants you can only experience in this Southern town.

Sporting events in Aiken include polo, steeplechase racing and show jumping, baseball, soccer and golf, all of which are just minutes from our hotel. The Augusta National Golf Course, host of the Master’s Golf Tournament, is just over the river in Augusta, GA.

Shop, dine, and catch live music while meandering quaint downtown streets, gaze at an iconic oak canopy, experience the equestrian culture, and take a historic trolley tour. Aiken quickly rises to the top as home to many thoroughbred champions—where polo matches and fox hunts are a way of life. But did you know Aiken also boasts a rich arts scene and is home to one of the nation’s largest urban forests?
