Welcome to Conway, South Carolina

Conway is a city in Horry County, South Carolina, and is the county seat of Horry County. Conway is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area. It is the home of Coastal Carolina University.

Conway is strategically located on the Waccamaw River and was one of the earliest settled towns in South Carolina. During the American Revolution, many of the area’s residents fought in small engagements near Kingston at Bear Bluff and at Black Lake.

Francis Marion, who was known as the “Swamp Fox”, had an encampment near Kingston just across the Waccamaw River.


Conway boasts many buildings and structures being on the National Register of Historic Places, where you can easily learn of the important history of the area.

Conway has continued to offer wonderful interaction between the residents and visitors, many who enjoy strolling the Conway Riverwalk along the Waccamaw River where you can find a varied offering of fine dining on the water.

 Golf Club
Jim McNair, Jr.’s vision for the Golf Club’s future is to provide a golfing experience for its members and guests that is reminiscent of a time when the game was appreciated for its Scottish Traditions. Jim Jr. has brought the “Ross” back to The Golf Club. In 2012, the Centennial Year, Jim was declared as a course designer, along with Ross and Inglis.
