Greenville is located in the northwest corner of South Carolina, approximately halfway between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The area, commonly referred to as the Upstate, includes Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Pickens and Spartanburg counties as well as the cities of Anderson, Clemson, Greenville, Greer, Simpsonville and Spartanburg.
Greenville’s moderate climate offers a full change of seasons, with an average annual temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Greenville offers mild weather throughout most of the year. Greenville is known for its milder summers when compared to other areas of the south.
Greenville boasts a very vibrant night life with seemingly endless entertainment. The food scene is one of the best in the upstate with unlimited choices of restaurants available.
The city is home to the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, Greenville County Youth Orchestra, Carolina Youth Symphony, and the Carolina Pops Orchestra. The Boston Symphony Orchestra regularly performs at the former Bi-Lo Center. Greenville Light Opera Works (GLOW Lyric Theatre) is a professional lyric theatre in Greenville that produces Musical Theatre, Operetta and Opera.
